Snapdragons! The botanical name for this flower is Antirrhinum, a Greek word which means 'like' and 'nose' in reference to the flower shape.
Snapdragons are a particular favorite of children who like to pinch the tiny individual blossoms and make the "dragon mouth" open and close. They flower in white and many beautiful bright and pastel colors, grow in upright spikes, the length of which varies in different types. Dark green leaves densely clothe the base of the plant and turn these flowers into beauties!
